History / Notes

A brave and loyal companion from the Bedouin tribes. He famously broke his sword at the Battle of Badr, and the Prophet ﷺ gave him a wooden stick, which miraculously became a sharp sword in his hand (the sword of Ukkashah). He asked the Prophet ﷺ to pray for him to be among the 70,000 admitted to Paradise without reckoning. The Prophet ﷺ did so. Martyred in the Battle of Al-Yamāmah against Musaylimah the liar in 632 CE.
